Clinical Psychologist
Sarah
is endorsed as a clinical psychologist and holds a Master’s degree in
Clinical Psychology from the University of Western Sydney. Sarah
helps clients who are struggling to achieve goals, including quitting
smoking, losing weight, dealing with problem drug and alcohol use,
improving sleep, improving relationships, and achieving satisfaction at
work. She also works with women who are making decisions about
pregnancy, or attempting to come to terms with pregnancy loss.
Sarah works with adults and adolescents with a wide range of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety disorders (including OCD and PTSD), interpersonal problems and relationship issues, long standing personality and self-esteem issues, borderline personality disorder, drug and alcohol problems, and serious mental illness (including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia).
She incorporates a range of evidence-based treatments in her approach, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Metacognitive Therapy, Mindfulness, and Schema Therapy.
In addition to working in private practice, Sarah works in the public health system, in psychiatric wards including acute, short-stay rehabilitation, and long-stay rehabilitation. She has also worked at a generalist psychology clinic, an integrated youth health centre, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, and with clients who experienced chronic pain and spinal cord injuries.
